Canine hydrotherapy session

The first session will include a full assessment so therefore will take up to 1 hour. We will carry out a full consultation and discuss the condition, medication, current exercise, etc to get a full understanding of the condition. Any subsequent sessions will be 40 minutes.

All dogs are fitted with either a buoyancy jacket or a harness when in the treadmill. I will always be in the treadmill with your dog. I will be using techniques to encourage optimal movement of limbs for that particular conditions.

Dogs must have veterinary consent before we treat them. Ask your vet to download the form and fill in the required sections and send it to us when you book.
Your dogs welfare is my priority therefore I want to make the whole experience as relaxing and enjoyable for your dog as possible. I use forms of motivations including toys, treats and verbal encouragement.

Whilst in the treadmill the session will be broken down into periods of 'work' and periods of rest. The length of work will depend on many factors including the condition, general fitness and age of the dog.

Please monitor your dog closely 24-48 hours after the session. This gives me information for the next session as to how they were and whether they can do a little more in the next session or whether we maintain at the current level.
