Case Studies
Conditions we see:

Name: Sparkie

Breed: Cocker Spaniel

Age: 10 years

Condition: CCWO surgery for cruciate ligament tear

Treatment: Sparkie attended hydrotherapy once a week. The aim was to improve the range of movement in his stifle and
increase muscle mass. Sparkie, who was initially a little nervous, soon grew in confidence and completed a block of 10
weekly hydrotherapy sessions. He was then successfully discharged as he was back to his previous level of exercise
pre-injury and had his quality of life back which was for Sparkie - being able to jump on the sofa and go upstairs.
Conditions we see:

Name: Bruce

Breed: Minature Dachshund

Age: 8 years

Condition: IVDD 2023 and 2025 hemi

Treatment: Bruce has been coming since Oct 2025. He started at once weekly sessions and now comes every
other week. He has made huge progress, especially in the last couple of months. He's such a good boy and a
real pro at hydrotherapy now. We do a mixture of walking on flat, on inclines and have now even added surfing.
The main aim with him to to strengthen his core and proprioception in his hindlegs.
Spinal injuries can take a long time to rehab; some dogs get back to how they were before the injury and some
find their 'new normal'. Quality of life is key for these dogs and Bruce has that and more with his very dedicated owners.
